IPhone SE (2020) delivers for me

The iPhone SE 2020

My main phone continues to be a 256gb Apple iPhone SE 2020 housed in an Apple Smart Battery Case. I chose this configuration for it’s small size, powerful A13 processor and all day battery life even under heavy loads. I’m running iOS 14.01 which has been pretty good for a brand new release. I enjoy being able to customize the HOME screens with widgets and shortcuts which had been missing in prior iOS releases.

Fond Tech Memories

Yesterday, I decided to temporarily switch from my iPhone XR to an iPhone SE (1st gen). The small SE has always been one of my favorite iPhones. The processor can still run the latest version of iOS and will be compatible with the upcoming iOS 14 when it launches in the fall.

This iPhone is covered in a Dockem Brown Synthetic Leather case and it's the 128gb unlocked model.

My Current EDC for 2020 (June)

I’ve made a couple of changes to my current everyday carry setup, namely the iPhone 8 has been replaced with an iPhone XR and I’ve installed a CoverBuddy case on the iPad Pro 11. This new case provides some protection for the back of the iPad when its not attached to the Magic Keyboard and it includes a storage compartment for the Apple Pencil. I’ve installed the same model Dockem case that I used on the iPhone 8 on the iPhone XR. The one item missing from the photo is a Fitbit Versa 2 smart watch in black.

My Current EDC for 2020 (May)

I'm back on the Apple bandwagon for May 2020. My 'Every Day Carry' consists of the following:
  • Apple iPad Pro 11
  • Apple iPhone 8
  • Fossil Collider Hybrid HR Smartwatch.

Side note:
  • iPhone 8 case is from Dockem, (fabric model)
  • Watch band is from Speidel, (Snakeskin Enameled)

IPad Pro 11 with Magic Keyboard

Apple’s iPad line has been the de facto standard for tablets for as long as I can remember. With the release of the 2020 iPads, that fact has not changed.

I am looking forward to getting a new iPad Pro 11 shortly with the new Magic Keyboard. Though the list of updates for the 2020 model is not as extensive as in some past updates, it’s the release of Apple’s Magic Keyboard that has the internet buzzing. This new keyboard accessory is unique in it’s multi-hinge design and the inclusion of a trackpad. IOS 13.4 has brought much improved mouse/trackpad support. Using gestures for most navigation looks to be a better way to work on the device. I will provide updates once I’ve used it for a while.

With the ever present COVID-19 pandemic front and center, we are all living in uncertain times. Be safe and GOD speed to ALL.
