Music Legend Prince Passes Away

On a sad note, Prince, the world famous entertainer died yesterday at his home. The artist had been battling the flu for several weeks according to reports. As shocking as the news was when reported, even more shocking was that Prince was only 57 years old and most believed he had been in pretty good health prior to the flu outbreak. I grew up on Prince as a lot of his other fans. Prince won multiple Grammy awards throughout his career and an Oscar for the movie Purple Rain. His influence on popular music culture was undeniable; he will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Prince.

Keeping Your Notes Together on iOS & OSX

Notability is my preferred app for note-taking on my iOS and OSX devices. The app supports normal typed text, images and handwritten notes. And if that's not enough, you can also record audio notes at the same time if need be. You can keep your data synced and backed up by utilizing Apple's iCloud service but I like to have more redundancy so I backup my data to DropBox as well.

Tablets as Computers

I've used a lot of tablets in my day, from manufacturers like Samsung, HP, Blackberry, Microsoft, Apple and others. Some more than others have even been used for productivity as well as consumption with varying degrees of success. Three of my favorites were the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, the Google Pixel C and the Apple iPad Pro. My 'go-to' device of choice is currently the iPad Pro 12.9. This device is an interesting piece of kit. The screen is huge for an iPad at 12.9 inches and it's simply beautiful. I've coupled it with Apple's Smart Keyboard along with the Apple Pencil. These accessories have the capabilities to change the tablet into a real productivity device for me. This setup won't replace my dedicated laptop or desktop but is more than adequate for light to medium creative tasks.
